Turns
- Shogun Wars uses a turn system to determine actions you can take against other shoguns.
- Turns come in two types: Attack Turns and Covert Turns, each used for a different set of actions.
- You earn Attack/Covert turns in regular intervals based on the levels of your Siege Technology/Covert (Ninjutsu) Skill.
- At the top-most left corner you can always see how many turns you have left of each type.
Actions (Cost)
You can use turns to perform actions (each action costs a different number of turns from a certain type). You do that when you watch the player's details of your target.
There are three types of actions: Basic, Aggressive War and Diplomatic.
- Basic Actions
- Raiding Party (1 Attack Turn) - Compare your Strike Action with your target's Defensive Action. Generates a report on the estimated results of a Gold Strike.
- Gold Strike (15 Attack Turns) - Attack the target using Attack and Untrained Warriors/Mercs wielding Weapons in your armory. Your Strike Action is compared with your target's Defensive Action. If you win, you snatch a piece of the gold in the target's armory (based on his Fortification level). Also both you and the target may suffer Casualties.
- Ninja Spy Mission (1 Ninja Turn) - Your Ninja attempts to infiltrate the target's land and generate a field report. The success depends on your Ninja Rating relative to your target's Shinobi Rating. The report includes stats regarding his military and covert forces. The better your Ninja Rating, the more detailed the report is (if it is done at all).
- Steal Gold (10 Ninja Turns) - Your Ninja attempts to infiltrate your target's land and steal 1/4 of their gold from their treasury. Based on the difference between your Ninja Rating and your target's Shinobi Rating the mission fails or succeeds, and gold is stolen.
- Aggressive War Actions
- Pillage (16 Attack Turns) - You strike your opponent aiming at his peasants. If you manage to gain the upper hand you kill his peasants, unlike getting gold in a gold strike.
- Counterstrike (17 Attack Turns) - You strike your opponent aiming at his Attack Troops (Trained Attack Warriors). ONLY trained attack warriors are killed in this type of mission. Mercs offer you no protection!
- Deathstrike (25 Ninja Turns) - You send your ninjas to assassinate enemy Ninja and Shinobi. Covert ratings are matched, to see the result.
