Casualties

Casualties occur in battle be it Gold Strike, Counterstrike, or Peasant Strike. An increased Siege Technology increased the amount of casualties an attacker inflicts on his/her opponent, while an increased Fortification reduces the amount of casualties a defender receives from an attack.

In battle, mercenaries always die first. In the case of the attacker, his untrained mercenaries die before his attack mercenaries followed by untrained warriors and then attack warriors. In the case of the defender, the series is the same only defense mercenaries and warriors die instead of attack mercenaries and warriors. This casualty follows the series and does not interchange, therefore, a succeeding unit group in the series mentioned above will not suffer any casualties until the preceding unit group is out of units.

For example:

If a player 100 untrained mercenaries, 50 attack mercenaries, 2500 attack warriors, then attack mercenaries and attack warriors will not suffer any casualties until all 100 of the untrained mercenaries are dead. Since the user has no units in the untrained warriors group, then it is skipped in the casualty series.
