Millionaire

• If you have less than 700 Attack Turns upgrade only Unit Production and Defense Level. Train 5% (of all peasants) to Shinobi, don't train other men and don't buy Tools.
• If you have more than 700 Attack Turns, start upgrading Siege Level and Covert Level.
• At 750 Attack Turns or more, train Attack Warriors and buy them weapons. Train 5% (of all peasants) to Ninjas but only buy them Tools if you need power to see more victims.
• Use all your Attack Turns and Ninja Turns now as long as you find valuable victims. Mainly use the money for Unit Production and Defense (upgrade, training, weapons).
• 2 weeks to end of era raise Shinobi power as high as possible (have many more Shinobi than Tools, calculate if it is worth to upgrade Covert Level), you even can sell Defense Weapons.
• This works best for those of the Crane Clan.

Hide and Grow

• Until you have 750 Attack Turns upgrade only Covert Level and Unit Production.
• Train at least 20% of your Peasants as Shinobi.
• Only buy Shinobi Tools if the Strength is 10 or better.
• This works best for those of the Scorpion Clan.

Defense to Maximum

• With less than 900 AT and NT put all money in bank, don't buy anything
• Whenever possible Upgrade a level of anything
• With more than 900 AT buy Attack mercs and weapons, Attack victims with 'Raiding Party' first
• With more than 900 NT train Ninjas and buy Ninja tools, Attack victims with 'Steal Gold'
• When Fortification Level is at 7 or higher buy Yoroi or better Defense weapon and buy amount of Defense Mercs for weapons
• When Fortification Level and Unit Production is at Maximum try to buy Kakita No Dachi? after you attacked some victims, you may sell other defense weapons, train Defense Warriors
• If your Defense Ranking is #1 try to not bank and only buy Kusanagi Katana and Kakita No Dachi?

Island Hopping (only in shogun islands version)

• If you are playing without a commander, select the island with the smallest population. If you have a commander wait until he changes island first, so you don't lose honor points for leaving commander.
• If you do have officers, make sure they know you are going island hopping, so there is time to get relations set-up again before the nightly turn.
• Every hour you can jump to another island, so do this and attack the most valuable victims there.
• Take your rest on the island where the number of valuable victims is high, because this also means that you can keep more gold until you will be attacked.
